Unemployment extensions 39 weeks now, what a joke!!!!
We can't sit and give people who don't work money and expect to make money and get out of debit, to get out of debit you have to sell products and export products while lowering our total imported products. One example of our debit going up is due to the amount of oil we import. Because of the price of oil we have to pay more and we spend more on the imported oil raising our debit. Now lets think about this.... If we can reduce our cost of oil and gasoline we can reduce the amount of money we spend, in return reducing the debit, and allowing companies and people to have more money to spend, allowing more people to get jobs, hence allowing our economy to flourish and grow.
Or we can listen to the democrat like Michigan Rep. Sander Levin who said how dare we even think about bringing oil into this debate about unemployment. What I ask Rep. Sander Levin is what he thinks the cause of this high unemployment rate is from? People..... everything we do this world revolves around energy, what we need to do is build more nuclear power plants, invest in researching new energy....... and here is an idea find new oil spots to drill at within our own country , allowing us to not depend on these middle eastern countries that make us pay $4 + on a gallon of gas. If we keep going the rate we are going we will be seeing $200 a barrel for crude oil, causing more people to not find new jobs because they can't afford the gas to go to job interviews or to even go back and forth to work.
What I'm trying to say is we can't just give money to people who our unemployed, it's not going to help people get a job by just giving them free money. This money should be put towards investing in new energy technology while also allowing us to drill within out own country for oil, The gas price is set based on the future if you did not know that, well you do now. If we say we are going to start drilling in America again for more oil, and allow new nuclear plants to be built in America we will then allow the price of oil and gasoline to drop to an affordable price. Drop our dependence on these middle easter countries and allow us to pull out of the wars going on there, not have our economy affected if someone dictator leader said he is going to blow up some other country. We will be Dependant on all this and again allow our debit amount to lower.Another idea we could sell oil to other countries again and oh my make a profit and allow new jobs to be created in America again!!
How Dare I say it, something to think about!!!!

Linux/ Computer Tip of the Day 4-26-08
If you use Linux and like to have a clean system, you're going to love this tip. Lets start by cleaning out your temporary directory, the folder with all the junk from viewing pdf's & Images, etc. On some systems the directory is cleared when you restart the computer, or the programs clean up after themselves, in my case they don't. Hence every month I have to manually clean out the directory. If you want to do the same go into the /tmp file as root (so you have the privileges) then delete what's needed such as files in /tmp/kde-username (username as in your accounts name).

Business communications Tech style
Sites such as Monsterjobs.com , Craigslist.com , careerbuilder.com allow us to reach out to those potential employers at a cheaper and much faster speed. It all helps you reach your career faster and find that great job you have been looking for. Just remember it's all about the communication skills you hold and how you decide to use them. These sites work greatly as long as you fill out the correct info and post it out for others to see. For example with Craigslist I posted my resume online for view and no latter then two days I got over ten E-mails offering positions at local jobs in my related field of web design.
It's also great to have connections with locals and people around the world, build up your contact list by posting on blogs and within forums related to you career area. The more people you come in contact and E-mail, the better off you are at finding a great job/ career. All these sites and applications that allow you to build up your contact list are great. Even if you have all these contacts keep in touch with them, see what's new and find if they know of any job opening's, or see if they are headed over your way sometime so maybe you could talk and hang out, possibly go for a round of golf.
Another great way to reach out to more people is get affiliated with a local political campaign and presidential campaign in you area. One example for me is working on the Mitt Romney campaign for 2008, it built up my contacts list greatly and got involved with local people who can open many doors when needed.
Don't forget it's not just about the websites and building the contacts that help, you need to be able to build up courage and contact these people, keep an up to date friendship with these contacts and also be able to communicate and talk clearly with them and use correct hand motion and dialog, dress correctly and show that you have self-confidence and can help show your views on a particular job..
You should use these techniques at all times even when your not looking for a job, you don't know what the will happen in the future, leading you into needing a job or who knows what may come from these friendships and contacts you make along your lifetime.

Mitt Romney True Republican Candidate supports Open Source
On February 6th, 2008 Jamie Lees
After doing some research I found that Mitt Romney supported the One-Hundred dollar laptop project in September 2005, after filing education reform Legislation.
Picture of him with the Laptop

He also has Linspire's CEO Kevin Carmony helping on his Campaign. It also seems Romney knows a little bit about the Fair use Policy after Fox started telling candidates they could not use footage of theirs for the campaign videos,Romney said under the Fair Use of there site that his Campaign can use the videos of himself for his Advertisements.

Also Governor Romney in Massachusetts appointed Louis Gutierrez for implementing the ODF policy.

Plus his views on the Economy and how business can grow in America and lowering taxes on business, and helping the economy get started again could help the growth of small Linux companies and business who support and rely on Linux.
Just a little research I pulled up that I hope would help some undecided voters that have not voted yet.

Tech Boom and the Space Race, What's to come?
Looking back to those books written by Joles Verne and all the predictions of what the future will hold. And then my grandfather telling stories of things he waited for, such as Phones that have video broadcast of the person your talking to. It all makes you think of what the future will hold in the next ten or so years.
To take a look at what's to come you need to take a look at what we have now and what we can improve to better our lives. So what is it we want in the future, and then take a look at what's in development now, it's all going to change again come another ten years. As someone who loves to see the advancement of technology and predict what will become of the future, I'll list some of the devices I think will be out by 2010-2020 being produced for the general public.
Thanks to faster connection speeds for data transfer your going to start seeing TV's in many house holds become the main computer with Cable stations fading out or transferring everything online as the TVs start to have Fiber optic cable connections built in allowing the user to surf the net and watch shows. Now I know your saying you can do that now with TV cards in computers, what I'm talking about is all in the living room with the big 60" T.V. Your also going to see a lot being connected to the T.V. such as Cell phones that you can sync via wireless with your TV allowing you to see your cell phone or other media devices on your big screen, can you say texting in an all new way! Or how about wireless gaming systems that don't require any wires to connect. How about gaming system that you can get your game on in 3-D. Another possibility as we move to nano technology would be thiner and lighter TV's that are also computers and communication devices all while staying flat screened.
Your also going to see a lot of new devices start coming out from NASA and other private space agency's just like we saw the microwave and cellphones from NASA during the race to the moon. This time we have the race back to the moon and mars granting us many new technologies. A few being created now include new fabrics, Protection suits, satilite technologies, Space crafts, Robots, Tools, and much more. I'm also going to say that Robots are going to be another big thing as they already have been for many years, but I think you will start to see new advancements in the intelligence of these robots and the capabilities of movement that these rovers can do. Schools will be included in the early years to help get more involved in developing and teaching kids about robots and what can be done with them, The only way to help push for a development of these new technologies is with the generations that have grown and learned to use these devices.
As China and other developing Countries start to develop more we are going to need other sources of energy that is non-reliant on coal and oil, such energy as solar and hydrogen. Cars will start to be able to use them more and more and get more miles per gallon. Something else that would be very helpful while driving would be cars networked to the road by chips put into the dividing lines, giving travel info and road conditions based on a pre set destination on the GPS system, cell phone providers will be included in the GPS devices offering TV shows and movies and possibly video games along with Internet and more in home comforts from your car. Houses will start to use solar panels more as companies in Europe and the USA develop lighter and less bulky devices to harvest the energy from the sun, so start looking for nano technology that harvest the light. Start looking for them to be sold in many nations within three-five years at an affordable price. One source of energy that we could only wish could be harvested would be the force of Gravity on the earth.
Medical fields are another big changing thing that relies on technology, so how about the cure of cancer or aids, two of the most leading diseases in the world. Another thing in the Medical field that kinda goes back to one of the predictions listed earlier is robots, we have them now being able to operate on open heart surgeries so let's see if we can have them do more on surgeries, but better and safer. Allowing us to save more lives and money as operations can be done faster, getting more people in and out.
Near the end of the time table I think it's safe to say you will start to hear about devices that can use brainwaves in simulators such as video games and other devices such as computers , T.V's, Cell phones, and much more. It's a matter of time before we start to figure out more on how the brain works and I think that time is soon.
This will all start with a new Tech boom allowing many new devices to come out, as long as we can come up with more engineers and keep the interest of technology and science going we will have a lot to look forward to in the years to come. Lets hope the race for newer and better technology keeps going and hope the race to space is safe. Remember Technology can be fun and also make many lives easier and safer and that's what we all need to look at.
